How GST billing works in CurryIQ

01

Set your GST rate once

During onboarding, enter your GSTIN and select your applicable GST rate (5% standalone, 18% hotel, or composition scheme). CurryIQ validates your configuration and applies it to your entire menu.

02

Bill normally — compliance is automatic

Every order your staff takes generates a fully compliant invoice. CGST and SGST are split correctly. SAC codes are applied. Invoice numbers are sequential. You do not think about any of this.

03

Export and file with confidence

At the end of the month, pull your GST summary from the analytics dashboard. Export it in the format your accountant needs. Your entire tax record is clean, accurate, and audit-ready.

Frequently asked questions

What GST rate does CurryIQ apply to restaurant bills?

CurryIQ supports all applicable GST rates for restaurants in India. Most standalone restaurants use 5% (2.5% CGST + 2.5% SGST). Restaurants in hotels with room tariff above ₹7,500 use 18% with ITC. You configure your rate once during setup; CurryIQ applies it correctly to every transaction automatically.

Does CurryIQ split GST into CGST and SGST automatically?

Yes. Every CurryIQ invoice automatically shows CGST and SGST as separate line items — as required by GST law. You never need to calculate the split manually. For inter-state transactions, CurryIQ applies IGST instead.

What SAC code does CurryIQ use for restaurant invoices?

CurryIQ uses SAC code 996331 for standard restaurant services (dine-in and takeaway), which is the correct Service Accounting Code for restaurant services in India. You can also configure different SAC codes for outdoor catering (996334) or hotel food services (996333) if your business requires it.

Can CurryIQ generate GST reports for filing?

Yes. CurryIQ generates GSTR-1 compatible sales summaries, month-wise tax collection reports, and itemised tax breakdowns — all exportable as CSV or PDF. Your accountant can use these directly for filing without needing to manually compile data.

Does CurryIQ support the GST composition scheme for restaurants?

Yes. If your restaurant is registered under the composition scheme (annual turnover below ₹1.5 crore), CurryIQ can be configured to issue "bills of supply" instead of GST tax invoices. The flat 5% composition tax is tracked internally for your returns without being shown separately on customer bills.
